Desmond E. Blaine is Vice President, Branch Manager of Summer Group Inc., a New York minority corporation, which specializes in providing printing services and advertising specialty items to its clients. He is responsible for expanding the company's client base throughout the tri-state area.
Before joining Summer Group Inc., in 2009, Mr. Blaine worked with Munich Reinsurance America Inc., for over 27 years. In 2002 he was promoted to Vice President Financial and Management Reporting, providing leadership for the corporate payroll function and the corporate procurement function. Prior to assuming this responsibility in 2002, he held various management positions including Assistant Vice President Financial Services, Director Corporate Services, Director Corporate Facilities, and Director Business Systems Analysis. Other responsibilites included the improvement of business processes, reducing costs, strengthening controls, and leading new system initiatives for numerous corporate functions.
In addition, Mr. Blaine spent four years with Sterling Drug Inc., and three years at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New York as an efficiency expert.
Mr. Blaine served four years as a member of the Executive Board of Artworks, a non-profit organization in Trenton, New Jersey. As a member of the new business development committee, he assisted Artworks in obtaining grants from local corporations. He also worked as a business leader with the Granville Academy, a non-profit organization created to educate minority children in the inner city, preparing them for entry into corporate America.
Mr. Blaine holds a Master's of Business Administration degree from Long Island University and a Bachelor's degree in Management from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York.
