Through its Returning Citizens Entrepreneurship Training Program, AACCNJ provides individuals who recently returned or are soon to be returning to their communities all the building blocks they need to launch successful businesses. Launched in 2018, the program offer
sworkshops on the role and characteristics of an entrepreneur, negotiations, communications, financial tools, marketing, management, leadership, and startup plan development and presentation. Participants also receive technical assistance and coaching sessions.


In 2022, AACCNJ received funding from Wells Fargo Bank and the New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) to underwrite its Returning Citizens Entrepreneurship Training Program.


Wells Fargo’s grant supported AACCNJ’s efforts to assist returning citizens in Newark and Trenton, New Jersey. NJDOC’s grant supported AACCNJ training at Northern State Prison in Newark, New Jersey.
